The Impact of Your Gift

Each year, nearly one million people visit the Kentucky Horse Park. On any given day, our guests range from the casual equine enthusiast to tourists wanting a uniquely Kentucky experience to the world champion readying for a competition. Charitable contributions to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation provide the private support necessary for the Kentucky Horse Park to fulfill its three primary missions:

  • AS A WORKING HORSE FARM – Home to approximately 130 horses, representing 40 different breeds, the Kentucky Horse Park offers visitors the opportunity to interact up close and personally with the horses living here. Horse-drawn trolley tours, pony and horse rides, the daily Horses of the World, and the Hall of Champions are just a few of the ways our guests enjoy hands-on experiences with our equine friends.Charitable donations through the Man o’ War Society are used to provide food, shelter, veterinary care and equipment for the horses living on our working horse farm as well as costumes and supplies for the Horses of the World and the Hall of Champions.

  • AS A WORLD-RENOWNED CENTER FOR SHOW AND COMPETITION – Annually the Kentucky Horse Park is home to more than 80 shows, exhibitions, competitions and championships. From the International Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event to the U.S. Pony Club national championships to vaulting, reining and carriage driving competitions, the show facilities of the Kentucky Horse Park play host to equestrians of all ages and skill levels from around the world. Regardless of your discipline, if you are an equestrian, you have a home at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Charitable donations are needed to build and maintain the world-class arenas, show rings, barns and footing for these local, national and international competitors. Gifts from Man o’ War Society members are instrumental in supporting these competitions.

  •  AS A CENTER FOR EQUINE EDUCATION – The International Museum of the Horse, the American Saddlebred Museum and the National Horse Center are all located at the Kentucky Horse Park. We also provide community-based education year round through special projects such as the Mustang Troop for at-risk youth; the Kentucky Horse Park Literacy Project, introducing horses and the joy of reading to thousands of local elementary students; and a variety of educational clinics and programs providing instruction for all levels, from experienced equestrians to novices.  Man o' War Society donations are critical to underwriting the cost of offering these educational programs and museum exhibitions to the local community and visitors from around the world.
