The KHPF is raising funds to support the much-needed renovation of Barns 1 – 21, beginning with Barns 1-4 and Barns 8-12. Plans for renovation include removing the current stalls, installing kick-proof stalls (some of which will have the ability to become double stalls when needed), renovating lighting, adding fans, and replacing roofing, thus making the facilities safe and accommodating for the thousands of horses that use them each year. Two generous lead gifts - from Equestrian Events, Inc. and from USA Equestrian Trust –have the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation off and running with its newest fundraising effort, but they will only cover a portion of the costly renovations that are necessary. The KHPF is actively seeking to fund the barn renovation project through private donations.

The 2016 Battle in the Saddle will include for our sponsors and their guests a cocktail hour and catered dinner, VIP tickets to watch the fun, and even the opportunity to cheer on your own hand-picked team of competitors.
Over twenty years ago, the Kentucky Horse Park launched the Mustang Troop in an effort to serve at-risk youth through the channel of horsemanship. The program has long stood as one of the park’s most successful initiatives, and the Mustang Troop has become a beloved institution both at the park and in the community at large.
In recent years, however, the KHP has noticed a shift in the needs of Mustang Troop participants as a whole. While horsemanship naturally lends itself to self-growth, our instructors felt a concentrated mental health focus would truly have a life-changing effect on participants. The KHP was interested in using quality horsemanship and riding instruction not as the end result of the program, but as a means of therapy for students with behavioral and social challenges.
Indeed, every day presents a fresh challenge at the Kentucky Horse Park, and the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation exists to help the park rise to the occasion. We firmly believe the KHP is the world’s leading equestrian destination because of the support of friends like you.
Charitable contributions to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation provide the private support necessary for the Kentucky Horse Park to fulfill its primary missions. We appreciate your gift, as it is vital to sustaining and growing these programs we all enjoy.
The Education Department of the Kentucky Horse Park strives to be a vital member of the horse industry and the community at large by serving as a center for equine education and learning. There are a number of programs within this department which will greatly benefit from increased funding.
